About Me

Meli & Minya (M&M) December, 2010  "The Girls"

Hi!
I am here to connect with people who work with Polymer Clay or another medium, make jewelry, like jewelry and/or home decor items, appreciate one of a kind, unique, handmade items, and to get feedback and meet some interesting people.

I work with Polymer Clay (PC) in my home and create jewelry, jewelry components, home decor items (vases, boxes, candle holders, wall plates, etc.), and writing instruments. PC is a wonderful medium. It's not earthen clay, but PVC.  It is pliable and is low-fired (cured) to hardness. It can be sanded, polished, clear coated, painted, mixed with powders, inks, inclusions, etc. There are almost limitless possibilities with this medium.

I first discovered PC in the early-mid 1990's .  I didn't have the room (or the funds) to work with it much at that time.  So, I put it away for a few years and decided a few years ago to try it again.  I do believe I have become addicted.  Everything I look at is considered...can I cover that?  Can I make that?  How can I make that better with clay?  Can I use that to make impressions in my clay?  I enjoy learning new techniques to use in my pieces.
(Pieces can be viewed on the Etsy and Bonanza links!)

We own two Min Pin sisters (M&M) they are better entertainment than anything on TV!  I have a full-time day job and work with Polymer Clay in my spare time.  My full-time job is an administrative job and requires the use of my left brain.  PC allows me to use my (more favored) right brain creative side.

Thanks for reading my blog and hope you draw something from it.  Comments, questions, discussions, etc. are most welcome!  Would love to meet some people -- whether you use clay, like jewelry, are just artsy, or are just talkative! -- who find this interesting.
