November Flea Market

I had a fairly good weekend at the Flea Market.  Although there are a lot of hand-made and craft items here at this venue, I do think the name "Flea Market" hurts those of us who are categorized as Artisans, Crafters, and Creators.
I upgraded my booth a bit this month -- it had much more "curb appeal" than last month and I was in a better location as well.
I also brought my clay, tools, oven, etc. to work on some items while there which helped to pass the time during the slower traffic moments and it gave some a chance to see how these items are made -- those who really don't know what Polymer Clay is.  So...all in all, it wasn't a bad weekend!
I think for December, I may attend an actual "Craft Fair" instead.  It's further to drive, but I think it will draw the type of people that are looking for unique items and not 200 pairs of socks for $5! HA!  (Not that there's anything wrong with that!)  :-)

Hope everyone is gearing up for the holidays and enjoying it!!  Will post again soon!

  1. I have had the same experiences at "flea markets" vs. "craft shows," even when most of the vendors at the flea market are crafters!

  2. This particular Flea Market is in a fairly prominant suburb of Nashville with the nearest location prior always having been in Nashville, about 25 miles away. Although they are claiming approx. 10K people were there this weekend, I guess that's not much for approx. 300 booths. Plus, the big yearly "Christmas Village" Market in Nashville was also this weekend. I don't think they did enough advertising, to tell the truth. So, I will search on...Just wish I had a better idea with next month being December!

Thanks for stopping by! How are things going with you?
